The Alexandria School of Highland Dance is now enrolling for the 2026-2027 school year, with the Fall Semester beginning August 2, 2026. Whether you’re Scottish or not, we believe that anyone can fall in love with traditional Scottish Highland dancing! We’re now accepting new dancers of all genders and experience levels in the following classes:
- Primary (ages 4-6): learn the fundamental positions, steps, and skills of Highland Dance through creative movement
- Beginner (ages 6.5+): the perfect introduction to the most famous Scottish dances, the Highland Fling & the Sword Dance
Our dancers have many opportunities to perform and compete at events such as the Virginia Scottish Games, the Alexandria Scottish Walk, and ASHD’s annual recital. Classes are held in Del Ray on Sunday afternoons. Learn more and register today at https://www.alexandriahighlanddance.org/.
